Now in its twelfth week, The RRP Podcast invites along Icelandic Viking and techno artist Bensöl.

Benedikt Sölvi is man of many trades. A self confessed computer geek and adrenaline junkie. He can often be found high in the skies piloting small aircraft. Deep sea diving of the Icelandic coast or alternatively hard at work in the studio prepping for his busy tour schedule. Bensöl the name under which he performs as an artist, is a regular face on the European festival circuit. He regularly performs at the likes Sonar Reykjavik, Icelands Airwaves Festival and Secret Solstice.

Like many DJs he has spent years grafting away, practising and building his skills. Formerly a resident at Kaffi Barinn. One of Europes best venues for those who like the darker, grittier side of underground music. He then moved on and took the mantle as resident DJ at Paloma. A Funktion One, filled powerhouse. These prestigious residencies only boosted his reputation and it wasn’t long before he started working with the biggest names in Europe. The BPM Festival and SXM Festival.

His sound, hard hitting techno is heavily influenced by the icy tundras of Icelands volcanic planes. It has not gone unnoticed either and has gathered him much praise and support from the likes of Maceoplex and Tale of Us. Now based in Ibiza, the DJ has played at most of the islands biggest venues. A regular at the likes of Space before its closure and you are almost guaranteed to catch him at many of the islands most sort out after parties.

This weeks podcast is an hour of signature Bensöl. Heavy techno as well as some more deeper, big room sounds that we guarantee you will love. Play it loud. Play it proud.
