In the latest edition of our Behind the Headphones series, we spoke to UK Techno artists Dense & Pika on the key to longevity, the studio or the stage, and making money through music.

Alex Jones & Chris Spero have been exciting dance floors with their unique, dark, and mysterious style of Techno for over a decade. With over 150 releases under their belt including 2013 hit Colt released on Hotflush Records, and Going Down Released in 2016 via Drumcode, the duo are known for their relentless output and an equally relentless touring schedule.

After preparing for a live tour for their 2021 album Colour Burn released via their imprint Kneaded Pains, the pandemic ground their touring schedule to a halt. Since then, Dense & Pika have gotten their heads down in the background spending more time in the studio as well as working on releases for the label.

Most recently the pair have started to release remixes of signature tracks from the album including Honey (Feat. Matthew Dear) which was remixed by Leon Vincent. Their track Hidden (Feat. Igor Cavalera) has has also been remixed by US artist Function and is set to release later this month.

We spoke to the guys about adjusting post-pandemic, getting used to the studio again and much more.
