As we hit episode 028 of the podcast series, we bring a Brexit special from French electronic music scene activist Ben Men. The multifaceted artist, Dj, records dealer, producer and party promoter has been flying the flag for french electronic music since the early 1990’s.

Ben is one of those people that lives and breathes dance music. Between 1996 – 2002 he was responsible for finding and managing the record stores Statik and Basement Trax. As well as finding the time to hold down residencies at Paris dance institute Rex Club and D Edge in Brazil.

On April 27, Ben Men is due to release his next output on his own own label with a brand new house cut featuring big remixes from Detroit’s Scan 7 collective and the legendary Terrence Parker. He has dedicated ‘Black Light,’ the lead track to the Motor City. The record pays homage to early Detroit culture with a warm, wandering bass line. Stabbing synths and plenty of retro soul light up the grooves as you surge on a wave of rich house nostalgia.

This fantastic package exudes Detroit authenticity from start to finish and is why we invited the legendary artist into The RRP podcast series. His wide involvement in dance music has brought him a wealth of influences and inspirations. This experiences allow him to draw on and channel them into a modern mixing style with a real US edge.
