KOAS presents Ancient Methods at Electrowerkz, London

Electrowerkz is the three-floor, former metal works situated in Islington. The venue that combines an industrial warehouse aesthetic with a stripped back urban environment perfectly suits German artist, Ancient Methods raw menacing 4/4 techno.

For over the past decade Michael Wollenhaupt’s project Ancient Methods has developed a trademark sound. He drags influences from genres such as wave, EBM, industrial but also liturgical and psychedelic, to create a techno sound, that leaves dancefloors in an intimate, rather introverted euphoria.

With Lupus, DVKA and Bradley Koas on support duties, accompanied by the clubs powerful turbo sound Soundsystem this is a night not to be missed.

Club 69 Presents Dense & Pika at Club 69, Glasgow

Only recently we heard tales of pumping techno, raucous crowds and a night that had the city of Glasgow on a buzz. Dense & Pika were in town and the duo created a roadblock outside of Club 69.

The venue has wasted little time in inviting back the formidable partnership back to entertain the Paisley party crew. With releases on many critically acclaimed labels, Drumcode, Hotflush and Hypercolour all springing to mind, it is easy to see why the British duo have become one of the biggest in the scene.

The Paisleys rave cave will provide the intimacy as well as the sound system required for trusted Glaswegians Ivan Kutz and Frazier to warm up proceedings ahead of the pummelling techno.

Up North YouandEwan at Wire Club, Leeds

Leeds based promoters Up North head to their new home Wire club. In tow is the Brane label boss Youandewan. The intimate basement, powered by its high octane Funktion 1 sound system will provide the perfect backdrop for a night of shenanigans.

Locked and loaded with his record bag, Youandewan has built a reputation for his diverse style, acid-laced cruisers, driving rhythms and deeper strains of house and techno.

Support this week comes from Mariiin, Up North resident Pete Melba and making the journey from the capital is Human Logo.

Missing Persons Club at Sub Club, Glasgow

DJ Nobu is a Japanese artist responsible for the world-renowned techno label, Bitta. It was actually rather surprising to find out that this weekend will be his first appearance in the Subby. Given Glasgow’s infatuation with proper, abstract techno this is long overdue.

The artist has been invited to headline proceedings by Glasgow collective Missing Persons Club & marks his first appearance in Glasgow for almost three years.

The subby basement boasts one of the UK’s only body sonic dance floors which will amplify DJ Nobu’s genre morphing sounds as they reverberate around the dark room.

MPC’s residents will warm up this rowdy and intense party.

Celtronic 2019, Londonderry

Celtronic is one of Northern Irelands stalwart music events. 2019 marks its 19th anniversary with the return of five days and nights of music events as well as workshops & recording projects.

Wednesday is where it all begins with Move D & Studio Barnhus main man Axel Boman joining forces to play at the opening party at St Columb’s Hall. Following a live broadcast from The Nerve Centre by BBC Radio Foyle’s Electric Mainline Show, Sandinos hosts a night of streamlined stompers, whip-crack electro and churning, wrong speed EBM as Berghain regular Dr Rubenstein and Copenhagens finest Courtesy headline proceedings.

The week is packed with a broad spectrum of musical talent but you can expect to see the likes of Krystal Klear, KiNK, DJ Nobu, Or:la as well as local talent NEZ & Darren Allen.
