2018 saw Scotland’s leading house and techno festival, Fly Open Air expand across two days. To continue the success 2019 will follow suit. A bi-annual weekend and must do event in the Scottish club calendar this year is scheduled for Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 May.
Fly Open Air’s creators have built a reputation for their commitment to using unique and interesting venues. Their events are as much about location as they are about music and this has created an exciting dimension to the festival. This year the team return to the stunning Hopetoun House. A 6,500 acre estate built back in 1699 for Charles Bruce the first Earl of Hopetoun.
Fast forward to 2019 and it won’t be the Earl of Hopetoun partying in the lavish estate, but instead some of the worlds biggest DJs. Year on year the Fly crew challenge them self to go above and beyond their already impressive list of bookings and 2019 is no different with their strongest line up to date.
Headlining the event is king of the after party and Diynamic label boss Solomun. If his versatility behind the decks and signature dance moves weren’t enough, Fly Open Air will be his first Scottish gig in 10 years. Joining him are another three massive names with Nina Kraviz, Cocoon boss Sven Vath and Seth Troxler. These three need no introduction and are more than comfortable orchestrating the crazy Scottish crowds.
Once again the promotion team has shown faith and stuck to its roots. Local talent has been as much a part of the success of Fly Open Air as the endless stream of international talent. This year Big Miz and Eclair Fifi, will be joined by up and comers Kettama and Carista.
This is usually the point where we would be telling you that the line up is finished however it appears Christmas has one last gift. Fly have also announced Peggy Gou, Honey Dijon and the best live DJ in the world right now KiNK will also showcase their skills. Their is no doubt this will be Fly Open Airs biggest and best festival to date and should be in everyones calendar.
