We are back with the weekly wax. A track that is currently doing the rounds. Whether it is working dance floors, after parties or the festival circuit we guarantee a waxer. From re-found gems to just released floor fillers this is our weekly wax. This week we have chosen ‘Eve of Destruction’ from Chemical Brothers latest album No Geography.

Three decades on and the Chemical Brothers have helped break the sound of rave in America, played monumental live shows and wrote some of the most far-out music to ever top the UK singles chart. Their ninth album titled No Geography journeys back to the source.

Although we could have chosen any number of tracks we have decided to pick the opening number. ‘Eve Of Destruction’ which features Japanese rapper Nene on a pre-apocalyptic knees-up is a doomy opening statement. It talks about the end being nigh, but is soon seized by an elasticated bassline reminiscent of their 2002 song ‘Galaxy Bounce’. This is a perky LCD Soundsystem-style punk-funk track at its best.
