From re-found gems to just-released floor fillers this is our weekly wax. This weeks record comes in the form of ‘Get Physicals’ creative director, Roland Leesker.
Having only had a few releases over the last 15 years, Leesker prefers to put out quality rather than quantity. A tact we are fully behind. For those that don’t know, Leesker has had a colourful career —both as a solo artist and under his DJ partnership with none other than Ricardo Villalobos.
‘Music Is Here’, is taken from the ACID LOVE Vol. 2 album, and includes a DJ Pierre remix as well as an instrumental version. However, after much deliberation it is the instrumental that pips it for us. A vibrant and busy acid house cut with warped bass, prickly percussion and teased out 303 lines that cut up the refracted vocal. It’s pure energy for the dance floor.
