Deep, ambient, visceral, breathtaking. These are all elements that producer and DJ Fraktal incorporates in his musical pieces . A music enthusiast for as long as he can remember, his discovery and fascination with electronic music has allowed him to express himself in a way that is only possible with a deep understanding of musical elements.
Always obsessed with music from a young age, it wasnt till around 2012 that he started expressing himself through his music creatively, creating lo-fi, heavily sampled, instrumental hip-hop compositions that were inspired by early hip-hop pioneers. He started to explore and experiment with music creation outside of his comfort zone around 2015, where he turned his attention to a genre of music that, outside of his own personal interests, dominated his social life; Techno.
He started to become more immersed within the electronic music scene in Middlesbrough and being a regular on the small but very lively scene it provided the fuel to his creative curiosity. Alongside exposure to artist such as Jeff Mills, Dixon and Ame he fevered away and quickly secured a monthly residency at one of the UKs leading underground events in the form of *Riffraff (using the pseudonym ‘Shorty’). Now the artist looks to carve out his identity as a DJ, Fraktal is the new chapter in a very promising career and one we will be following with interest.
