AT ONE with Mella Dee in Leicester

2018 proved to be an extremely fruitful year for the Leicester based party crew AT ONE. Although Leicester is, not famous for its dance music, the At One crew are going some way in changing that perception by bringing some of dance musics biggest names to the city. Long nights, big after parties and raucous crowds create the perfect storm

This month At One welcome the Donny Dance king in the form of Mella Dee. He himself also experienced a very successful 2018 thanks in part to his ‘Techno Disco Tool’ release. Now used to playing big rooms it will be a pleasant change as he plays Dryden Street Social. A 450 capacity venue situated in the industrial heart land of  Leicester city centre. Expect techno fused with elements of house as well as hardcore and jungle. Just like his label Warehouse Music, Mella Dee is about big sounds. A combination that will prove infectious this weekend. Joining the line up will be City Fly, Loosewomen and Ressika.

Cartulis Day @ Fold – London

London has recently seen the introduction of some exciting new venues. Each of which are attempting to redefine the cities clubbing landscape. One of these is The Fold. The venue is situated on an industrial estate in Canning Town and has London’s only 24 hour venue. Its late nights, educated crowds and quality booking policy have quickly helped establish itself as a go to venue for underground dancers and this week will be no different.

Cartulis Day has thrown parties across the globe since 2009 from Barcelona to London and integral part of their success is down to their residents. This weekend Uruguayan artist Z@p joins Unai Trotti as they warm things up before Reade Truth. He will be transporting East London ravers on a journey as he demonstrates his production skills with a 1 hour live set. Finally those looking to witness the magic and the mystifying will get all that and more with Nicolas Lutz playing an extended 7 hour set b2b with a special guest.Extended sets are always a favourite of both clubber and DJ, and with this serial crate digger, we know the dance floor will still be dancing as the morning sun shines throughout Fold.

Semi peppered with Elena Colombi b2b Izabel – manchester

Semi Peppered have been bringing parties to Bristol for the last 4 years, before making a move North to the 0161 last summer. This weekend they will make the basement of YES their home as they invite Elena Colombi and Izabel to throw it down. Synthesised sounds, freaky disco & balearic love-affairs will all be on offer as Izabel gets in sync with Elena Colombi. Describing herself as an Insomniac Izabel is the Amsterdam based DJ that has recently been making moves across the globe. This month alone she will be on 3 continents and across 5 cities.

Play b2b will be Colombi. An artist born in Italy and raised by an unconventional, free-spirited family moved to London in 2008 before setting up a successful string of underground parties. This lead to her securing herself a radio position at famous underground station NTS. Elena’s musical style taps into a wide array of influences and inspirations. For her, knowing and feeling music doesn’t mean specialising in one particular genre. Never one to pander to trends, she embraces the best elements of the past and future, paying particular attention to obscure and undiscovered artists.
