We blinked and missed September. It therefore wouldn’t surprise us, if like us you struggled to keep track of the thousands of new releases last month. To make your life that bit easier we asked Harry Peacock, Release boss and resident DJ to compile his Top Ten Chart for the month of September. Below is a mix of the very best electro, nu-disco, techno and everything in between.

Man Power – Valhalla [MMM13]

Geoff Kirkwood, aka Man Power puts out only his second release on his own label. A nice touch as his ‘Me Me Me’ label turns two this year. The track has been a mainstay in sets from DJ Tennis, Red Axes and many more over the last few months. A testament to this majestic production.

Perm – Ergolst [LACK016]

Lackrec finally expands to the much loved Mitteldeutschland, signing a 5-tracker from leipzig‘s jack of all trades Perm. This is a jacking 313 injected techno track, that is one of favourite productions to date.

Pino – Thorn (Original Mix) [NMN 048]

Pino is Konstantin Kandelaki: a popular DJ on the Tbilisi, Georgia circuit with previous releases on Roam Recordings and Logical out of Madrid.”Thorn” is a bouncy, darkwave nu-disco workout that’s perfect for when the smoke machine comes on.

Djedjotronic – Cocking Robot [BNR174]

10 years after his first EP DJeddjotronic brings out his first album on Boysnoise Records. Titled R.U.R, the album features 11 tracks with the stand out ‘Cockring Robot’. Dropped by Âme, at Innervisions recent show at The Royal Albert Hall. The track is sure to be a dance floor classic.

Dusky – The Captain [17 Steps]

We have already featured ‘The Ace’ from the A-side of this wicked EP in our Weekly Wax series. As is always the case with Dusky, they spoil us for choice. The Captain is a trance-inducing, arpeggio-driven chug. A tribute to their late friend Jan Francis, promoter of London’s infamous ATG Warehouse parties.

Maribou State – ‘Nervous Tics’ feat. Holly Walker (DJ Tennis Remix) [Ninja Tune]

A month after the release of their new album Kingdoms in Colour, Maribou State announced a series of remixes. One of which is the subtly infectious groove vision of DJ Tennis. Taking the original melody and Holly’s gentle vocals, DJ Tennis adds a solid, dark vibes to the whole thing.

Perel feat. Frangie – Das Auge [Correspondant]

Every summer Jennifer Cardini’s, Correspondant imprint celebrates another ground-breaking year with a far-reaching collection. The vibe is deep, emotive, innovative and unapologetically cosmic as we’re pushed headfirst into Correspondant’s boundary-less soundscape.

Thomas P. Heckmann – Acid Head (CJ Bolland Bad Acid Remix) [MONNOM016]

Thomas P. Heckmann’s album Body Music on Monnom Black gets remixed with 4 acidic cuts from various techno legends. A hard choice, but our favourite, is from Belgium electronic music producer CJ Bolland.

Contactless – Static [Unknown to the Unknown]

Straight up electro funk in the tradition of the Motor City. Coming at you courtesy of top retroverts Unknown To The Unknown. Their fresh debutante Contactless gets some bass heavy futurism in full effect on the new Static EP. ‘Static’ is packed full of laser blips, alien vocoderisms and glitchy synths galore.

Curses – Gold & Silber Feat. Perel (Chinaski ‘Tech Noir’ Remix) [Dischi Autunno]

Preceding the release of his debut album, Curses presents ‘Gold & Silber’, a five track EP led by a hypnotic, post-punk leaning roller. For the title track, Berlin based artist Perel provides cathartic vocals on top of a drowsy rhythmic framework drawing influence from early EBM, synth music and new wave.
