In the latest episode of our Behind the Headphones series we spoke to Davide Squillace on artist perception, buying gear, and difficult moments.
For over 10 years veteran DJ Davide Squillace has been producing and spinning forward thinking dance music to the masses.
Davide’s resume is impressive to say the least. In 2007, he became a resident at Circoloco in Ibiza. In 2012 he featured on Pete Tong’s BBC radio 1 show with an essential mix. On top of this he has releases on labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Hot Creations and Rebellion to name a few, and has travelled the world as a solo DJ and as part of Better Lost Than Stupid, a group which consists of himself Matthias Tanzmann and Martin Buttrich.
But behind the highly successful, party starting, world travelling DJ is a deeply artistic individual whose creativity transcends the would of dance music into other multidisciplinary art forms all of which is curated from his This And That Lab, a hub that allows audio and visual artists to thrive.
In our interview Davide shares his thoughts on the state of the dance music world and his concerns of how artists are perceived, how his mindset in the studio changed during lockdown, and much more…
Davide Squillace teams up once again with Nolan for their latest record ‘Drive Good’ featuring vocalist Jaw which you can purchase here.
