Archie Hamilton, born in London in 1985 and raised in South Wales. Has had an incredible rise through the ranks of the underground house and techno scene culminating in becoming one of the most respected artists in the genre.

Aged 18, Hamilton began his journey into raving, becoming a regular at several London clubs such as Fabric, LWE, Junction 2 & whilst producing tracks from his bedroom.

In 2008 Hamilton graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a degree in Marketing Management. After moving back to London he decided he wanted to pursue his passion for music instead of marketing he enrolled at Point Blank Music School and was tutored by Chad Jackson, who wrote the 90 hit “Hear The Drummer (Get Wicked)”

As his work became more complete it began to get noticed by the FUSE crew. A Sunday party held at the Shoreditch club, 93 Feet East. This where he saw his first global success as one of the artists pushing a groundbreaking style across Europe.

Eager to continue his momentum & growth he launched Moscow Records in 2009, an imprint whose ethos centers around pushing alternative sounds & providing a platform for both international talent & emerging artists to flourish. The label boasts a wide range of music from Chris Stussy, Priku, S.A.M, and of course Archie Hamilton himself.

Working across many of the facets of electronic music, Archie’s penchant for rugged basslines and ethereal atmospherics from his signature sound. A dynamic selector, an accomplished producer, and an influential label owner. Since then he has gone on to launch sub-label, Moss Co & stand-alone imprint Arkyityp with his good friend Rossko.

Today we caught up with Archie Hamilton at his East London studio as part of our Behind The Headphone series. We discuss his journey as an artist his inspirations and his future plans.
